Week 1 - Module introduction & briefing [29/9/24]
Week 1 of the module introduced us to the course objectives and what to expect throughout the semester. Our lecturer, Ms. Tan Li Lian, provided a clear overview of the module, highlighting the importance of cross-disciplinary collaboration. We were briefed on our first task, which involved forming groups to work on the product they have created which is "Nutricup" which is based on a noodle cup Maggie. I teamed up with a diverse group of peers, including business students, which allowed me to combine design thinking with strategic business perspectives. This initial step set the stage for an exciting journey ahead as we brainstormed ideas and learned how to collaborate effectively.
Project Timeline
After the briefing concluded, Ms. Tan Li Lian walked us through the project timeline, outlining key milestones and deadlines to ensure we stayed on track. She provided a detailed guide for our tasks, breaking down each phase of the project and explaining what would be expected from us at every stage. This clear roadmap gave us a solid understanding of how to manage our time and plan our work effectively. It also helped us see how each of our roles would contribute to the final outcome, ensuring we could collaborate smoothly with our business counterparts.

We also had the opportunity to meet our representatives, who introduced us to the potential clientele we might be working with. These individuals would guide us through understanding the real-world needs of the businesses we’d be collaborating with over the next 14 weeks. Each group was given the freedom to choose different projects to work on, allowing us to align our skills and interests with the project objectives. This meeting marked the beginning of a challenging yet exciting journey, as we prepared to dive into hands-on problem-solving and client collaboration.

In Week 3, our focus shifted to Task 1, which required us to compile and submit a comprehensive slide deck. We combined all the individual work from each team member, ensuring that our ideas flowed cohesively and met the project requirements. This process involved several meetings with the group, where we discussed our progress, refined our content, and made sure each section aligned with the overall vision of the project. Working together on this task helped us build stronger communication and collaboration skills as we prepared for our first submission.
