Tasks
Our lecturer, Ms. Anis, introduced the final year project in the first week and provided us with the necessary guidelines and documents. I chose an idea I had been developing for some time: creating a political board game with fantasy elements. The game is set in fictional kingdoms, each inspired by different cultures, and incorporates magical resources, mythical event cards, and intricate lore to bring the world to life.
Since this project will be showcased publicly at our final year exhibition, I plan to enhance the experience by designing and producing detailed game components. These include 3D-printed character models, an intricately illustrated game board, and engaging collaterals such as posters, pins, and stickers for the public to enjoy and purchase.

In the beginning stages, I carefully planned out the game’s rules and mechanics, inspired by elements of Snakes and Ladders and Monopoly. The gameplay revolves around players navigating a mystical board, drawing event cards, and managing resources while facing penalties and challenges. The goal is to balance strategy and chance, making the game engaging and accessible to players of all levels.
Progressing on the 3D Building for My Board Game
As part of my political board game project, I recently delved into creating a 3D building to enhance the game’s immersive experience. To streamline the process, I started with a clear concept inspired by the game’s fantasy theme.
Using my initial sketches, I jumped into modeling the structure in [software/tool used]. I focused on keeping the details intricate yet cohesive with the game’s whimsical aesthetic. To save time, I reused and adjusted pre-made assets for elements like doorways and decorative trims. This approach helped maintain quality while speeding up production.

Reflection
As I work on this project, I can’t help but reflect on how far I’ve come. Balancing the workload of a major project in my final semester has been intense, but it’s also been incredibly rewarding. I’m grateful to have made it this far, and I couldn’t have done it without the support of my lecturers and friends, who have been my constant source of guidance and encouragement.
This project represents not just my skills, but the culmination of years of learning and growing as a designer. As the semester draws to a close, I’m both excited and proud to see everything coming together.
Thank you.
